Description

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 5500 feet. Totalsnow accumulations of 1 to 4 feet and up to 5 feet along higherpeaks. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.* WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western PlumasCounty/Lassen Park Counties.* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM PST Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Thehazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening and Mondaymorning commutes. Strong winds could cause extensive damage totrees and power lines.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels Friday afternoon around 6000-7000feet, lowering to around 4500-5500 feet over the weekend, beforeincreasing to around 5000-6000 feet early next week. A brief breakin snowfall expected from late Saturday afternoon into Sundaymorning with lighter snow showers.
