Freezing rain possible tonight into Tuesday morning.
Hazard:
Freezing rain. Ice accretion on some surfaces.
Timing:
Tonight into Tuesday morning.
Discussion:
A low pressure system could bring freezing rain to the area beginning tonight. Temperatures in the affected area are forecast to hover around zero degrees Celsius overnight and Tuesday morning. As a result, ice accretion on the ground and road surfaces is expected to be variable as the ground is still relatively warm. However, icy conditions are possible, especially on elevated surfaces like bridges, overpasses and untreated roadways.
The Algonquin area may also receive 5 to 10 cm of snow locally by Tuesday.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
